Nikki Simons - The Neurodiversity Centre KZN

​The Neurodiversity Centre was founded to provide multi-disciplinary assessment, support and intervention to children, adolescents and adults presenting with a constellation of neuro-developmental / neuropsychiatric challenges, as these challenges present across the lifespan.
​
These include concerns such as ADHD, ASD, Dyslexia, Tourette’s and a variety of neurological challenges presenting with major behavioural / cognitive problems from an early age.

The NDC originated in the Western Cape, South Africa. They currently have trans-disciplinary teams across 9 centres in the Western Cape, currently working with over 4,300 families.

The Neurodiversity Centre KwaZulu-Natal was founded in 2023 by Clinical Psychologist Nikki Simons and has since expanded to include branches in Durban North and Hilton. Each centre is staffed by a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering excellence in care and support.​
Nikki Simons is the Director of The Neurodiversity Centre and a Clinical Psychologist. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in 1999, followed by an Honours Degree in Psychology in 2000. Nikki has gained extensive experience working in remedial schools, special needs schools, crisis centres, and mainstream schools in both South Africa and the United Kingdom. After earning her Master’s Degree in 2009, she worked in both the government and private sectors before opening her private practice in Ballito in 2010. Nikki’s dedication to her community and profession has been recognised with the Best of Ballito award in both 2024 and 2025.

The NDC is the two-time winner in the category of Neuro-specialists of the year by Corporate Livewire South African Prestige Awards 2021/2022.
